Instrument Pilot Requirements

• Must have a private pilot certificate

• Pass the FAA written knowledge test

• Accumulate 50 hours of pilot in command cross country, 40 hours of simulated or actual instrument time, and 15 hours of flight instruction towards the instrument rating
